minneys yacht surplus

it's evident that this building was at one point in its life a restaurant.  one back room that is filled with brass props is thoroughly insulated because it was the walk in.  the exhaust hoods for the kitchen have been repurposed to house an array of stainless, brass, and galvanized boat parts.  upstairs you'll find electronics in varying states of (dis)repair. "as is" tags prompt buyers to heed caution, or maybe tempt the crafty hands of an old salt.  you'll also find the door to the yard out back, home to more unwieldy items like masts, dinghies and pallets of danforths.  there is even a rickety little set of stairs that take you to a side of the roof, which aluminum tubing, and stainless t tops call home. stores of this breed are but a relic of a bygone era.  smattered with the odd bargain, the overall pricing was higher than i would expect, but maybe that's just what it takes to run an independent business, instead of another west marine.  either way, it's worth a visit, even if only to see how lab rat in a maze must feel, only it's not swiss cheese you're after.
